The Challenge

Autocatch.com was once a top-tier destination for Canadian used car listings but had fallen behind in usability, branding, and user engagement.

The goal was to revitalize the platform—modernizing the user experience, reestablishing trust, and making it competitive in an increasingly sophisticated online auto marketplace.

Strategic Approach

We started by redefining the brand identity, shifting from a dated, transactional look to a cleaner, more confident aesthetic. Extensive user research uncovered key pain points: cluttered search results, unclear vehicle info, and a lack of mobile optimization.

Our strategy centred around simplicity, clarity, and performance—ensuring buyers and sellers could find what they needed quickly and easily.

Key Improvements

  • Modern Visual Identity: Developed a bold, approachable logo and a new color system to improve brand recognition and visual clarity.

  • Streamlined Search: Rebuilt the vehicle search experience to be faster, more intuitive, and mobile-first, with filters that surface relevant results faster.

  • Improved Listings: Redesigned listing pages to prioritize key vehicle info, seller transparency, and next steps—whether that’s contacting a dealer or saving a search.

  • Dealer Tools: Enhanced the dealer dashboard for easier listing management, analytics tracking, and user engagement.

  • Responsive UI: Created a fully responsive design system optimized for performance across devices, ensuring accessibility and ease of use.

“Simple, fast, intuitive and a seamless user flow.”

Outcomes

  • Increased time-on-site and lower bounce rates

  • Boosted lead submissions for dealers and private sellers

  • Reestablished brand credibility in a crowded marketplace

  • Positive feedback from users and stakeholders

  • Built a scalable design system ready for future platform growth

Final Thought

Redesigning Autocatch.com wasn’t just about listings—it was about restoring trust and removing friction from the vehicle search journey. The result is a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive experience that helps Canadians find their next car with ease.
